Equalizer App Reviews

Awesome!! But buggy and clunky..

Auto Normalizer drives me crazy sometimes because it does its job a little too well and wont let me loudly play music because its always lowering the volume. Would be nice if the volume self adjusted as well but thats not possible is it? When searching for songs nothing happens, you type in the search bar and nothing shows up. Just ABC on the side and nothing else. Everything just goes away. Except for the ABC on the side.. Theres always been a delay with everything that takes place changes tracks and the like but, Ive always thought that had something to do with the gapless playback, and I have to mention that this app is the only one out of the few Ive tried that has gapless playback. However theres a delay in art changing with songs, whole UI is just nuts, a redesign would be really awesome. I believe this is the best sounding equalizer in the App Store but its so buggy and the UI is so clunky, almost all of the problems that were there before I stopped using it years ago are still here: sometimes new songs continue playing from the part of the song where the last song was playing when changing songs.. And no track number counter, the way you search thru a track is ridiculous, just use a regular search and track bar like everyone else. Almost all of the problems Ive had have been because of the UI design and that track bar.. Im not a developer nor do I have any of the necessary skills but this app needs an entire redesign if its to remain competent. Itd be nice if this happened after all these years.. Hope more updates come soon and I hope UI change happens soon too

Great EQ/Mastering

I use this to master my garage band songs on my iPhone. This app isnt intended to be a "mastering" tool but gives me more control than other "big name " pricy apps like "mastering by Howie Weinberg" (what a sorry excuse for a mastering tool). I tried several others, this was the best for cleaning up the 20-60hz range and leaving a solid punch by a mile. I highly recommend this app.

All music apps want control...

... It seems like this one. Control of my music , that is. Why cant they just perform a function like equalize? Not very clear how to use this one at all...

Amazing

This app makes your music sound amazing. It made my Apple EarPods and Beats UrBeats sound like studio headphones.

Just ok

Just wanted a good cross fade app. But now it wont recognize the format of many of the songs even though I spent $25 to have iTunes automatically upgrade the song formats. Very frustrated with the app!!

Difficult to use and buggy, not worth the money or effort

I just got UE900s and decided I needed an EQ for good sound quality. I read reviews saying theres a steep learning curve, and boy should I have listened to that warning. The app is not user intuitive at all, its buggy as hell (freezes frequently when changing tracks), and the online manual is for a different version with very different UI, meaning that theres no way you can figure things out by reading. I asked for a refund and just got a runaround set of unending questions while avoiding refund. Not the best way to earn a customer seeing as this was the first ever app I decided to purchase

Lack of updates

Been using this app for a little over 3 years and the same bugs remain. Im mostly annoyed that the cloud preset syncing didnt work and ended up losing my presets when I restored my phone as new. Also searching is clunky. I have less than 1300 songs.

Best EQ, period.

The is by far a superior Audio EQ app to any other app that I have tried. It has a very intuitive graphic interface, and is very transparent, adding little noise. The developers are to be commended. Job well done! I would give them 5 stars if they could make this EQ apply to all music and video apps. It would especially be great if it worked on Spotify, iHeart, Pandora, etc. Again, thank you to all of the devs that made this app possible.

App shuffles your songs!!!

The app will sometimes play any song but the one you pick. And it would be better if you could create a playlist in the app.

DOES NOT WORK WITH APPLE MUSIC

Only giving 2 stars because app does not work with Apple Music. Once a this changes I will consider re-purchasing this app.

Haters Alert

This EQ woke up my Braven HD Bluetooth Speaker ...just when I was questioning the quality of the speaker. It seems to have some kind of volume moderator so as not to distort

Waste of Money

Doesnt work for Apple Music. Only good for songs you have synced via iTunes.

Highly Recommend For Musicians

Its An Awesome Experience For People Who Love Music And Like To Switch Between Different Sounds And Different KHz And Hz. Only One Thing That Would Be More Awesome If They Added More Than A 7 Band Equalizer.

Professional quality all the way.

Equalizer is a truly powerful music player and eq combination. Soundforges immediate and professional support is unequaled in the App store. If 6 stars were available, I would give Equalizer 6 stars. You can be as professional or as casual as you desire with this app. Equalizer can be set for each ear individually; you simply swipe the eq. area right or left to access the other channel. For those of you who dont know-the number input boxes at the top of the eq window allow you the precise number setting of the center frequency, the db. or volume of that frequency and the width (Q) to the right and left that a particular center frequency affects. This is far more precise than a simple slider type equalizer. It is important to remember that the eq can be controlled by taping on a grayed dot to move it to any frequency and db, volume, level. At the very top center of the screen is a circle with either a vertical arrow or a double horizontal and vertical arrow. Tapping this circle will toggle your ability to move those dots either vertically (db) only, or both vertically (db) and horizontally, frequency and volume (db) On the far bottom left of the screen is a mini symbol of your selected curve. Tapping this icon will take you to the eq window. Tapping "dismiss" in the same place where the mini-curve indicator was will take you back to your music library screen. Once you have formed a curve on the eq., For each ear, that you like the sound of, tap the eq. icon on the bottom right of the screen and that takes you to a gray screen. You will there see various presets. At the top of this screen is a box where you type in the name of your curve. I name my curves for myself and the head phones with which I listen and did my hearing test on. Remember you can save multiple curves for various headphones. Tapping "return" on your keyboard saves that curve. If you desire very accurate music reproduction you should perform multiple hearing tests using your favorite headphones. The hearing test apps I recommend are SoundFocus and Hearing Analyzer-for Audiophile, by TOON, LLC, both available on the app store. At least four tests and a screenshots of the graphs should be taken for each hearing test app (tapping the home button and on/off button simultaneously on an IOS device. The screenshots are saved in your photos on your IOS device. The two curves that are the most similar represent your hearing curve. To create a curve in Equalizer that will compensate for your hearing loss you simply create a reverse or mirrored curve in the eq as compared to your two hearing graphs. For example if your hearing dips to -20db below the 0db level at the 1000hz frequency then create an identical boost at that frequency 20db above the 0db line. The boost should be a reverse mirror of the dip. The result is a 0db net gain. This is then a flat or accurate frequency response curve. The best way to learn the Equalizer app is experimentation. And if you need, as I said, Soundforge backs Equalizer with truly amazing support by e-mail.
